Red Wine Coffee Cake

 

German Doughnut RecipeIngredients:

1 cup (250g) butter
1 1/4 cup (250g) sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon cocoa
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 1/2 cup (250 g) flour
1 cup red wine
1/2 cup (100 g) chocolate chips
Pinch of Salt

Instructions:

Combine butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract in bowl of an electric mixer and beat until creamy. Add dry ingredients and blend together, then put red wine and chocolate chips to the dough. Mix again until well blended.

Grease a 4 ½ x 12 inch loaf pan.
Silicon forms work great and most of the time you don’t have to even grease them.

Pour  the dough into the baking pan and bake at 320 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 hour.

When time is up, test the cake by inserting  a skewer in the middle of the cake, if it  comes out clean the cake is done, if dough is still sticking to the skewer bake for 5 more min at a time until done.

Let the cake cool in the loaf pan, when cool turn onto platter.

Wonderful with whipped cream, excellent for freezing.
